The GOAT App

The Full Story

We started out buying industrial equipment at auctions (think Richie Bros., Bidspotter, etc.), primarily for our own businesses. We realized that the auction industry is ripe for automation and process optimization, and AI does both those things in spades. We're a small team bootstrapping our own app, and have tested it on thousands of auction listings - items that we have bid on and in many cases won ourselves. 

GOAT (Graph of All Things) has 3 parts:

1) Lotting (Phil): Create detailed, hyper-accurate auction lot information in seconds - the Phil App takes photos from your phone and gathers all information about that product from everywhere it can be found on the internet. Phil sees it all: make / model, manufacturer link, product attributes, year, pricing (new/used), product manual, detailed description - title & subtitle. All done within seconds, not minutes.


2) Listing (Lisa): Lisa is a Listing Manager in charge of taking the detailed lot information created by Phil, creating the perfect listing in ideal format, comparing it to other ideal listings, and publishing it automatically.


3) Sales (Brenda): Brenda is the Sales Agent that assumes total responsibility for closing sales of items effectively and at optimal margin. Think of anything your sellers have to do now:

  • understand the full details of the listing

  • build rapport with human agents at auction locations

  • manage payment methods and confirm payment receipts

  • manage sales conditions (pickup dates / times / etc.)

  • collect buyer information for sales documentation (BoS, Title Transfer, etc.)

  • maintain CRM

Brenda does all this and more, and is learning while doing it so that she can constantly improve processes for next time.
